Breaking The Cycles
Cycles seem unending at times. Have you ever felt like you were making one step forward and two steps back? What if I told you that those two steps back actually destroyed the very thing that held you bound? What if backing up for just a moment actually gives you an advantage?
A change in perspective may just be everything that you need. The one step forward gave you a view that empowered you to believe for the greater that is ahead. The two steps back, put you in the position to destroy the thing(s) that might later destroy you had you kept forging forward.
Note that I used the word “seem”. Often things appear and even feel real. Yet, they are no more than an imagination; a lie told to our spirit to cause us to give up, so that our flesh wins in the place of despair and doubt. But today I am here to help you break the cycles.
To break means to separate into pieces and interrupt continuity.
Step back without regret or defeat. Step back with the full intention to destroy all that the enemy established in your life to bind and keep you from your destiny.
Destroy his plan by:
1. Shifting your perspective the next time you “feel like” you are going backwards. Choose to look for God’s purpose. Ask God what can HE use in this situation to bring HIM glory.
2. Praise God knowing that HE is in full control of all things.
3. Replace the old habit(s) (strongholds) with new purpose-filled habits.
Take a moment to consider a time in your life when you felt as though you were taking steps backward instead of forward. Write it below. Then pray to God and ask HIM to help you see the situation in a different light. Record what God speaks to your spirit.
Luke 10:19 New International Version
19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
