Making the Most of What Remains
John 6:12 (New International Version)
“When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, ‘Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.’”
Today, my heart is burning with anticipation for what God will do in the final moments of this year. It is so easy to dismiss the last few days of a season, especially when we are waiting for a promise we've believed for all year long—that specific breakthrough we were certain would manifest by December.
But what if you are the only one writing off the remaining time? What if the very last day was always God’s appointed moment for your miracle? You might be closer than you think to seeing it, holding it, experiencing it. Don't walk away now and leave the 'remains' behind.
The story in John 6 is a powerful encouragement. Over 5,000 people were present (they only counted the men, so families, women, and children were likely there, too). The only provisions available were five small barley loaves and two small fish from a young boy. The need was massive; the human provisions were nonexistent compared to the gap.
Yet, Jesus had everyone sit down. They all expected a meal. They were all filled to satisfaction. And still, 12 baskets of leftovers remained. Nothing was wasted.
What is it that you think you've run out of time to receive? What are you hungry for, waiting for God to perform in your life?
I challenge you today: Make the most of what remains.
Even when time and supplies seem stacked against you, trust God—He is the ultimate gap-filler. Trust Him for it still, praise Him for it now, and prepare your heart and your home to receive it.
Yes, I believe in miracles, and I believe in you. I believe that great things are still happening right up until the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day and beyond!
Greater is ahead. Remain in expectation!
